Marshall called the ADF a racist and sexist organization founded by right-wing ministers who want to change the American democratic government into a theocracy.
“The Christian right is totally out of control,” Marshall said. “I can’t support anything that says the government should be run by the Bible and not the Constitution.”
Democrat Commissioner Everette Linvile joined Republicans by voting in favor of the appeal, while moderate Republican Richard Linville voted in favor, saying “ee need to get this squared away in this county.”
