Forsyth County commissioners have an extra week to vote on a $40 million bond referendum that would fund a new central library.

The delay is due to an extension for statewide judicial candidates to file for office, thus necessitating extra time to finalize the November ballot. The extra time is crucial, however, because bond support Beaufort Bailey is hospitalized following surgery to remove an intestinal blockage.

Bond supporters have a narrow 4-3 margin on the board.
