Filing is underway for the October 8 Wake County election.
Four candidates have, so far, filed for seats on the Wake County school board. While officially “nonpartisan,” the board is anything but.
Incumbent Republican Deborah Prickett is seeking re-election to the District 7 seat. You may recall that Democratic board member Susan Evans literally yanked the microphone from Prickett’s hands during a public meeting. The video can be found here.
Zora Felton has also filed for the District 7 seat so there will be at least two people vying to represent District 7. The state Board of Elections website lists Felton as a Democrat.
Other Wake school board candidates who’ve filed as of today include Tom Benton in District 1 and Nancy Caggia in District 9. The state Board of Elections website lists Benton as a Democrat and Caggia as a Republican.
Here is the candidate list for the October Wake County election as of Monday afternoon.
