It is the height of political arrogance. The congressman whose vote ensured that ObamaCare would pass after he caved to the president and congressional Democrats on the abortion issue, has decided NOT to defend his vote before his constituents.

UPDATE: Politico reports that President Obama called Rep. Stupak and asked him not to retire, and that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also tried to get Stupak to run again. So, when he should have said “no” to Mr. Obama and Speaker Pelosi, Rep. Stupak said “yes.” Only now– after the policy damage is done — does he decide he can tell both of them “no.”
