One of my favorite shows, “24,” claims here to be the “first-ever carbon neutral televsion production.”

Through aggressive and innovative changes in its production practices,
the show reduced the carbon emissions associated with its production by
a staggering 43%, and to demonstrate a further commitment to leading
the television industry on the issue, “24” has purchased high-quality
carbon offsets to address its remaining unavoidable emissions.

Of course, buying eco-indulgences is the easy way to become greener than thou.  The show also airs public service announcements where “24” stars urge viewers to take action to stop catastrophic warming before it is too late.

I wish “24” actors would spend their time fixing the glaring inconsistencies in the plot instead of preaching to viewers about climate change. In other words, shut up and act.
