As some guy once wrote, “The lesson of Chicken Little is that all that’s required to start a panic is just one nut.” Remember the story? Chicken Little has an unfortunate encounter with a nut, immediately believes the world is coming to an end, and then gets her whole community in such a tizzy that they determine to go straight to the seat of government to get the problem fixed.
On the way, they meet a very helpful fox who pledges to assist them on their way ? by which he tricks them and devours them. Quite the con artist, Foxy Loxy is smart enough to see through Chicken Little’s ridiculous buncombe, and he’s also smart enough to realize how easy it would be to take advantage of such earnest dupes.
I give that as prologue to passing along what I read today in Politico:
