The UNC College Republicans are facing some heat after bringing humorist and political commentator Ben Stein to campus Monday.
The organization received $4,111.50 in student fee money toward Stein’s $15,000 speech. Stein’s visit attracted hundreds of students to a standing-room only Hamilton Hall auditorium.
The money has been frozen temporarily after Student Body Treasurer Alexa Kleysteuber raised concerns over the number of seats that were reserved for College Republican members and sponsors of the event.
