Around the same time that the Durham Herald-Sun touted JLF adjunct scholar David Hartgen‘s suggestion that the local transit system might consider making their service free, the Raleigh News&Observer stated that the same report was flawed because  it didn’t take into account the escalating gas prices.  Thinking that prices were only going to get higher, the Observer criticized the report for making “assumptions from 2003 forward” that did not factor in their belief. Which brings up an interesting question: isn’t that what global warming alarmists do when they prophesize the carbon-induced apocalypse?  Daren‘s “Daily Journal”, republished in the Free Republic explores this politically motivated alarmism.
