I have never seen so much disparity in the price of a gallon of gasoline. On my commute, KMart is $2.59/gallon still; across the street at a Kangaroo it’s $2.53 (this morning’s low price); Hess, Crown, Kangaroo/BP and Raceway are at $2.55; and Exxon, which again is across the street from the Raceway and within two blocks of Hess, Crown and Kangaroo/BP, is up 20 cents to $2.99.

And I can’t help but remark on the fact, surprising to me, that there were cars at four of the eight pumps at the Exxon (and there aren’t lines at Hess, Crown, Kangaroo/BP or Raceway).

Also: I read last night that 95 percent of refinery production at the Gulf was hobbled. Hang on tight.
