On the subject of revenues, fewer cars on the road means less revenue for Guilford County.

Gives you an idea of the effect it would have on the economy if everyone just gave up their cars and submitted themselves to money-sucking mass transit system.

On a semi-related note: I can’t find online the N&R story on the Piedmont Land Conservancy’s purchase of a 156-acre tract off Lake Brandt Road.

Honestly, I’m glad the conservancy was able to acquire the land without government funding. I’m glad there was a donor who obviously has the means to take advantage tax breaks instead of selling out to developers.

Still, as I read about the conservancy’s goal to convert an old farm into, well, a farm, I can’t help but wonder if there might be a perfectly good reason why it isn’t farm any more.
