The N&R reports on the new Greensboro City Council’s swearing-in ceremony:

It started as an overt, planned message of unity: Three religious leaders of different races and genders wishing the new City Council well.

But it morphed into a more subtle one.

One by one, the council members reached out for each other’s hands as the Rev. Arnetta Beverly prayed for them, as individuals and as a group, on the first night of their term Tuesday.

How nice. No there doubt where be quite a bit of unity on the council, considering the fact that there’s one conservative vote —-District 5 member Trudy Wade. We’ll get to see such unity in action once more before the new year begins.
