Check out Greensboro City Council member Nancy Vaughan’s reasoning behind her vote against banning guns in city parks:
Vaughan said she had heard from mothers who carry handguns in their purse who wondered how they would pick up their children from city parks and recreation areas, worrying they would have to drop the guns off at home before doing so.
Surely this is a shock to the sensibilities of the N&R, who surely didn’t have that demographic in mind when they editorialized in favor of the gun ban, reasoning that “as hard numbers show, the assumption that every concealed carry permit holder will abide by the letter of the law isn’t necessarily so.”
I realize Nancy Vaughan is an at-large council member, but we still know where she lives. So the message here is watch your step when you’re hanging out with the mommies in Irving Park.
