Don’t see it on the N&R’s Web site, but Greensboro Community Sustainability Council co-chairs Bob Powell and Joel Landau penned an op-ed in yesterday’s Ideas section asking for “your support and for you to let the City Council and the mayor know what you think…..Encourage them to adopt the plan, then hold our feet to the fire and make sure we put it into action.”

Here’s the draft; as you can probably imagine, a major component of the plan is “land use policies that reduce sprawl, preserve open space, and create compact, walkable urban communities with multi-modal transit options.”

Back in 2007, the City Council put the plan in motion by pledging to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by supporting the US Mayors Climate Protection Agreement. As you can probably imagine, I weighed in.
