Interesting that the lede in today’s N&R front-pager ties reforms at Oak Hill Elementary to more money:

Reforms for the lowest performing school in the county took a major step forward Tuesday night.

The Guilford County Board of Education approved a grant proposal for Oak Hill Elementary that could mean up to $6 million for the school over three years.

School board member Amos Quick said the “board’s willingness to approve the proposal, which included material they’d not seen before, was a “rubber stamp,” and he urged fellow board members to ask questions.”

There was “minor discussion” among the board before approving the grant proposal by a 9-1 vote, with Paul Daniels casting the only ‘no’ vote.

More money to fix problems —– ‘status quo’ thinking, is it not?
