Like commenter ‘Angie,’ I also noted with interest Guilford County Board of Education member Kris Cooke’s comment that “there’s so much misinformation out there” regarding the rebid for renovations to Ragsdale High School.

Angie says:

Right! That’s always the problem with this school board. No transparency. You fooled the voters once with the previous school bond, what makes you think the Ragsdale community trusts you?

Remember that renovations to Ragsdale —–plus the funding for the new Jamestown Middle School across the road —– were approved by voters in 2003 bond referendum. Then…..nothing, and both project were put on the 2008 bond referendum. So it’s understandable why the Ragsdale community doesn’t trust the school board.

Interesting that Ragsdale is coming in overbid. Seems to me local officials at all levels of government pushing construction projects that government can ill afford make the claim the down economy dictates that bids from desperate architects and contractors would come in lower than usual.
