The Guilford County Board of Education has fired MWBE coordinator Todd Baldwin, three weeks after he resigned.
Turns out Baldwin had rescinded his resignation. Note this has happened before, when Northern Guilford High School custodian Lewis Lawson was fired for his alleged role in the school’s recruiting scandal just two weeks after he resigned under pressure from GCS administration.
Fuller allegedly solicited contractors bidding on school system projects for donations toward the Aspire Foundation, for which he served as a board member. Don’t get me wrong, my heart won’t bleed for an MWBE coordinator, but you have to wonder if Baldwin was subjected to some strong-arm techniques.
By the same token, you also have to wonder if Fuller wanted to be fired to put him in a better position for a possible lawsuit.
