Last year the General Assembly in Georgia passed a bill allowing for vouchers to follow students with special needs to private schools across the state. This ?win-win? program helps with over crowed conditions, and also allows parents to make the ultimate decision where their child?s educational needs can best be served.
Today?s Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported on the increase of families applying for this option. More that 5,000 families have applied, up 52 percent from last month.
Georgia demonstrates what might have occured if House Bill 388, Tax Credits for Children with Special Needs, had gotten passed in North Carolina.
