Director of City Planning and Urban Design for the City of Raleigh Mitchell Silver told persons wishing to pay the Coalition of Asheville Neighborhoods $5 that New Urbanist design is the way to accommodate an aging population.
“The Congress is open to all with an interest in learning, sharing and preparing Asheville neighborhoods for today’s climate,†said Mariana Bailey, CAN Co-President.
Mitchell, Mayor Terry Bellamy and City Planner Judy Daniel spoke at the Third Annual Neighborhood Congress. The event, hosted by CAN, took place at Jubilee!, a small Asheville New Age church.
