If you’ve ever rolled your eyes when the issue of government regulation is discussed, be sure to get up to speed on the eyebrow-raising raid by the feds of guitar maker Gibson over allegations that Gibson is using illegal hardwoods to craft its classic guitars. CEO Henry Juszkiewicz refuses to be intimidated by the government and, according to this National Review blog, will be in the gallery tonight when President Obama addresses Congress to propose yet another spending spree. I think this raid puts a face on the complex, job-killing web of laws and regulations that smother entrepreneurs and businesses in this country. It is my hope that the feds have targeted an executive who won’t recoil in fear, but who will make this a national conversation about economic survival and the policies that either help create jobs or kill them.
