A literature course announced for Spring 2007 at Duke University gives some insight into the kind of mentality that would lead them to make racially charged comments of guilt against the lacrosse team “regardless of the truth of the most serious charges.”

Here’s an excerpt from the course synopsis (which comes amid another good example of that course-description trope known as the Barrage of Silly Questions):

How are sexualities racialized and “races” sexualized in historical and contemporary accounts of queer embodiment?

This literature course is titled “Sexuality: You’re Making it Up; It’s Making You Up.” I’m not making that up.
