A letter over Asheville City Manager Gary Jackson’s signature threatened to terminate the city’s lease with Pack Place. Pack Place is an art and science center downtown. The letter enclosed a list of neglected repair and maintenance needs and said if Pack Place did not come up with $419,800, the city may not renew the lease in May.
Pack Place board chairman Edward Hay said the city’s claims are “not true” and that it’s too early for the board to respond to the letter.
