The tom-tom song of environmental alarmists bounces well off western North Carolina’s Appalachian Mountains, despite reports of better air quality to the contrary.  But, how is it that North Carolina, even when it meets state and federal benchmarks for emission standards and continues to lower its number of high ozone days, AND even goes so far as to pass the strongest anti-pollution legislation in the nation, still gets labeled as an at-risk state?  Well, it’s because those standards keep changing.  Those who set the arbitrary compliance standards would be out of a job if those mandates didn’t change.  That’s what Joel Schwartz shows in a JLF report he shared with local businessmen and leaders in Asheville.  Chad Adams, who helped facilitate the function, broadcasted some of the meeting’s high notes on air while hosting the Matt Mittan show this week. Also on the show, Don Carrington, provided an update on the Ferry Division Director’s upcoming May trial, and Easley’s involvement in the Southport Marina deal.
