This could be almost be an episode of the Twilight Zone with all the strange twists and turns all resulting in atomic irony.

I’ll give you the short version: City razes magnolia trees to construct a two-mile stretch of sidewalk along Cornwallis Drive. Residents complain, but —-as the N&R rationalizes—- it will at least give them better access to Golden Gate shopping center as part of the ongoing effort to make Greensboro a ‘more walkable city.’

Last week we learn that Golden Gate’s anchor tenant will close at the end of the month.

That’s not fair. That’s not fair at all.
