There is little doubt that the highlight of the show was Mo’Nique’s heartfelt acceptance speech for the Best Supporting Actress award for “Precious.” The show went downhill from there. I blame the alcoholic beverages.
Anyway, who predicted that crude but delightful film “The Hangover” would win Best Motion Picture Comedy or Musical? I was also surprised (and pleased) that “Glee” won Best TV Series Comedy or Musical.
Curiously, there were no anti-war acceptance speeches this year.
