Note below that Horse Park of the South was the recipient of $1.5 million in Golden Leaf funding. That Golden Leaf withdrew funding after it was clear the horse park people didn’t have their act together doesn’t change the fact that they funded it in the first place.

Which is why Golden Leaf should be dissolved or —at the very least —- have funds diverted to close the state’s budget gap, as the Winston-Salem Journal urges Gov. Bev Perdue to sign into law.
