First, the good news: There is finally going to be a movie made based on The Chronicles of Narnia. With the record-setting ticket sales of “The Passion of the Christ” and “The Lord of the Rings” series, Hollywood aims to reacquaint itself with strong moral stories.
Now, the bad: This movie will be a Disney project. So all the redeeming features of the story will no doubt be slathered in Disney’s usual saccharine schlock, with every pastel scene too busy proclaiming Boys and girls, this is so good for you! for the strength of C.S. Lewis’ tale to shine forth. If so, I just hope it drives book sales.
