Now we hear that Guilford County’s Schools’ graduation rate may not be the abysmal 63.5 percent reported earlier:

Superintendent Terry Grier said he expects the state Department of Public Instruction next week to revise district graduation rates released Wednesday that said 63.5 percent of freshmen who started high school in 2002 graduated within four years.

That rate was based on a coding error of several hundred students, Grier said. He expects a revised rate of between 73 and 83 percent.

Nothing official from GCS yet. When word comes, it will be interesting to hear the explanation.
