The Haywood County Board of Education wanted more school resource officers. Haywood County Commissioners told them they could have them if they would publicly accept blame for a tax increase. The Board of Education backed off.

“If they are not going to put themselves on the line to ask for that, then how can we as commissioners?” asked Commissioner Kevin Ensley.
