That is the title to Katie Pavlich’s piece today, and it can’t be improved upon. News of Bob Owens’ death yesterday is devastating.

Bob has been a frequent source here for his firearms expertise since his days blogging at Confederate Yankee. Over the years he became a friend. He had a sharp wit and was an unflinching professional, not willing to bend to political pressures but honest and dispassionate in his assessments. If Bob thought it was this way, that’s probably how it was, and let the chips fall where they may.

I appreciate Pavlich writing this especially:

I will remember Bob for all of the smiles he put on my face and the laughter he brought to those around him. He was an incredible friend with the kindest of hearts. He served as an important mentor to many and was an overwhelmingly positive influence in my life. I was blessed to know him and I will miss him dearly.

Please keep his family in your prayers during this horribly difficult time. He leaves behind his wife and two young daughters. We have set up a GoFundMe page to help, which you can access here.
