Republican legislative leaders followed last night’s State of the State address by pointing this morning to ideas that would help state government make a dent in its estimated $3 billion budget shortfall.

The GOP ideas:

  • Consolidate More at Four and Smart Start;
  • Explore suspending state public school class size mandates;
  • Employ enhanced software to identify and reject improper Medicaid claims;
  • Suspend state funding of the Clean Water Management Trust Fund; and
  • Intercept Golden LEAF funding.
