Columnist A. Barton Hinkle of the Richmond Times-Dispatch is right on the money in this piece, showing that the government coercion in Obamacare will create new problems that authoritarians will attempt to solve with still more coercion. Specifically, the government will try to deal with rising health care costs with spending caps on individuals.
Where in the Constitution is there any authority for the federal government to tell people how much they may spend on anything? It no more exists than the power to interfere in the market for medical care and insurance in the first place.
