Ads running on the radio tell us the amazing NC Connect Public Improvement Bond will give government money without raising taxes. Well, if debt service doesn’t increase, they aren’t going down.

I think I will be voting agin’. School upgrades are nice, but there are too many people working two jobs and unable to do anything but pay for housing, food, transportation and government mandated-insurance. Several of those not doing so are likely collecting government assistance (which establishment types will say is good because it brings federal dollars into the community).

Consider this. I left the trailer park where I live in the daylight today, and was astounded at how many trailers had at least three cars in the driveway. (Some people had probably already gone to work by this time, too.) This is the fundamentally-transformed American dream: college educated, living seven to a singlewide, working two or three shifts, and broke.
