We learned during the government shutdown in Bill Clinton’s second term that, no matter what the circumstances, a government shutdown is always the fault of Republicans. Even when both sides are equally obstinate, the tie always goes to the Democrats. That can only happen with the complicity of the media. That’s how they see things, like Democrats.

Powerline Blog’s John Hinderacker sees that same double standard at work in Minnesota this year as he compares a 2005 government shutdown after a Democratic walkout, which was blamed on Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty, and a shutdown this year as a result of Gov. Mark Dayton’s vetoes of budget bills, which is being blamed on (you guessed it) Republicans.
