An editorial in Moore County’s The Pilot criticized annexation opponents for going against the communal benefits of adding Pinewild to Pinehurst. The argument here is a simple one.  “Our good stuff has to be making your life better.  Join us and pay up, or be labeled selfish. Oh, and by the way, there’s nothing you can do about it.  We’re using involuntary annexation” (insert neener-neener face, here). Daren Bakst takes the editorial board to task, questioning why it is that individual rights are second to communal ones. Read the heat. I’d also like to highlight Sanford’s publicly funded golf course. After releasing a Spotlight on why the city should sell their golf course, the Fayetteville Observer ran a piece on some officials’ take on Michael Sanera‘s advice — more hugs and taxes.
