No judgment, just fact:

On Wednesday, City Manager Mitchell Johnson promoted Bob Morgan to fill a long-vacant position for a deputy city manager. Morgan was the Carrboro town manager before he came to Greensboro to become an assistant city manager.

Jim Westmoreland, currently the transportation department director, will temporarily become the acting assistant city manager of economic development, a new position.

Johnson has asked Westmoreland to create a report on the state of the city’s economic development in the next 60 days and then outline the key issues in that report.

The job changes are part of Johnson’s plans to restructure his office.

Johnson will soon launch a national search to permanently fill the assistant city manager of economic development job.
