North Carolina’s four-year (cohort) graduation rate has increased over the last few years. According to statistics published by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), all but a handful of states have raised their graduation rates between 2010 and 2013.
Iowa has the highest graduation rate in the nation (90 percent), while D.C. has the lowest (62 percent). North Carolina is tied with Utah, South Dakota, and Illinois for 23rd.
