John Stossel has a great column today, discussing the fantastic notion being spread by Obama (and other polticians) that we can simultaneously boost employment and clean up the planet by having the federal government “invest” in green energy sources.
Stossel’s counter-argument is that government subsidies to all the various “alternative” energy sources will squander vast amounts of taxpayer money. Politicizing the energy business will just get in the way of efficiency, not give us the promised Utopia.
