According to a recent article,
there are ten states, two cities, and some environmental groups that
are suing the EPA arguing that the agency must regulate carbon
dioxide.  BTW: NC is not one of the states (yet).

The EPA doesn’t regulate carbon dioxide because it is not a
pollutant.  However, this won’t stop the environmental advocates.

An attorney for the Sierra Club stated: “In fact they
[EPA] have both the legal and moral responsibility to tackle global
warming pollution.”

So, his argument is carbon dioxide is pollution because it increases
greenhouse gases and thereby causes global warming.   It doesn’t
matter that carbon dioxide is a naturally occurring gas that is
required to sustain life on Earth.  Redefine “pollution” to mean
whatever you want.  Interesting.  Maybe I’ll try this
approach.

I think the EPA should regulate the attorney and the
environmental groups because they are causing “distortion of the truth
pollution” and thereby convincing government officials to develop
environmental policies that have all costs and no benefits.  I
wonder if ten states and two cities will join me in suing.

From
the article: “While carbon dioxide is not toxic — humans exhale it in
large quantities — it does contribute to the so-called greenhouse
effect, where certain gases in the upper atmosphere allow sunlight in,
without allowing the heat to escape Earth, not unlike a greenhouse.”

So,
following all of this logic, we will need the EPA to regulate water
vapor.  Why?  From this National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration report (not that the following needs to be cited): “Water vapor is the most abundant greenhouse gas in the atmosphere.  As this study
states: “Water vapor constitutes Earth’s most significant greenhouse
gas, accounting for about 95% of Earth’s greenhouse effect.”  For
some reason this fact is ignored.

Not convinced that environmental groups mislead?  Try this quote from the article: “EPA does not regulate carbon dioxide, the most plentiful of the
greenhouse gases…”

Memo to Water Vapor: You could be next–it just isn’t convenient now
for the environmental groups to acknowledge your existence.
Actually I imagine the next
time the EPA is sued it will be to regulate how often humans take
showers, wash their cars, or to prohibit the use of any Slip &
Slides by children (or adults–it really is fun–leave me alone, it is
fun).
