What jumps out at me when reading about new superintendent Mo Green’s contract with Guilford County Schools wasn’t the “security clause that stipulates the school district will pay for any protection for Green and his family in the event of public controversy or any other reason deemed necessary.” I understand things get heated around here, especially when dealing with people’s kids.

What jumped out was the “annual $20,000 contribution to Green’s state retirement plan.”

Pretty sweet, is it not, and not an indulgence that the majority of us sweating it out in the private sector can enjoy. Help me out if I’m missing it.
