OK, we get it: Mo Green’s plan is to listen and learn. Kind of like Obama’s ‘change’ mantra.

One more respectful disagreement with the N&R’s Doug Clark on the subject. Clark wonders why the four Guilford County school board members —- Jeff Belton, Darlene Garrett, Garth Hebert and Anita Sharpe couldn’t “join the others” and make Green’s selection unanimous.

It’s because they want to go on record as opposing Green because they view this as a risky move, given Green’s lack of experience as an educator. Should this not work out — and I’m honestly hoping it does — they need to be able to tell their constituents they opposed it from the start.

It’s basic politics, and there needs to be more of it, especially among the school board.
