…Which in a way was not hard to do….Still both the council’s lone conservative—District 5 representative Tony Wilkins–and its lone moderate conservative– at-large representative Mike Barber–both lost their seats in Greensboro’s City Council election. In all other races, the incumbents—including Mayor Nancy Vaughan and at-large members Yvonne Johnson and Marikay Abuzuaiter–held their seats.

Kennedy defeated Barber by less than 1 percent, which means Barber can request a recount. In District 5 Thurm defeated Wilkins handily.
