Fresh off the press is news that Guilford County Commissioners just said no to demands for $1 Million from a Greensboro company promising to create 300 jobs.

Commissioner Billy Yow nailed it:
He felt the company didn’t need more incentives and that the money should be put toward improving other areas of the county.

“Are we good stewards of the tax payers money if we sit here tonight and give you money to create jobs when we’re having to terminate them? When R.F. Micro is a money making machine,” Yow said at Thursday’s meeting. “It’s a multi-million dollar a year business without a doubt your actual revenue is much higher than Guilford county’s will ever be.”

Legislators, Cumberland County Commissioners and Goodyear Tire and Rubber – are you listening?
