As Inside Scoop notes, it should be an interesting Greensboro City Council meeting tonight. However, two items are of particular interest to me. For starters, Greensboro Coliseum director Matt Brown will ask the council to sign off on $2 million in state funds that would go toward a proposed ACC Hall of Champions at the Coliseum’s Special Events Center.
The council will also discuss options for a new swim center, which will be funded with $12 million from a $20 million parks and rec bond that passed back in November. A couple of council members have indicated they believe the coliseum area would be a good place to put the swim center.
Could be good times on the horizon for Matt Brown & Co. Right in the middle of a recession, too.
