As the inauguration of President Bush approaches, it can be tempting for conservatives, even moderates, to believe that leftist ideas are, more and more, a thing of the past. This speech by Sen. Ted Kennedy and this story about Angela Davis’ visit to Durham, are two bold examples of why it is important not to take for granted what appears to be a shift toward conservatism.
