Dane Huffman is a Raleigh native who majored in journalism at UNC, finishing in 1983. He also earned a master’s in Graduate Liberal Studies at Duke.

He worked in Sports at The News & Observer for 24 years, serving as a sports writer and assistant sports editor before leaving for WRAL in 2007. At WRAL, Dane managed the sports department and the launch of WRALSportsFan as the station looked to be cover sports on multiple platforms, including radio.

He moved to WNCN to manage the news website for 5 years, where WNCN.com won best broadcast website in North Carolina in 2014. Dane became Managing Editor of TBJ in July 2016.

He married Caroline in 1992 and they have two children, a 20-year-old son and 16-year-old daughter.
