Dr. Edward Timmons is a Service Associate Professor of Economics and Founding Director of the Knee Regulatory Research Center at West Virginia University’s John Chambers School of Business and Economics. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Lehigh University, and his research on occupational licensing and regulation has been published in leading journals such as The Journal of Law and Economics and Health Economics. His work has been cited by the Federal Trade Commission, the Obama White House, and the U.S. Senate, and he frequently provides expert testimony on licensing reform in state legislatures.
Dr. Timmons has authored over 100 articles in major outlets including Harvard Business Review, The Hill, and US News & World Report. His research has also been referenced in a Senate hearing on occupational licensing and competition. He has been a visiting research fellow at Collegio Carlo Alberto in Italy and is a Senior Affiliated Scholar at the Mercatus Center and a Senior Research Fellow with the Archbridge Institute.
