Lauren Acome began her career in education as a high school social studies teacher in North Carolina. In 2013, Lauren transitioned into administration as a high school assistant principal in Hillsborough, North Carolina, before serving as the founding high school Principal at Eno River Academy, a public school of choice. In July 2019, Lauren joined North Carolina Virtual Academy as the Head of School.

Lauren grew up in Ft. Worth, Texas and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Additionally, she holds a Masters of Arts in Teaching and a Masters of School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

As a school leader, Lauren is excited to provide opportunities and innovative solutions to the challenges encountered by 21st century learners.

Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband, Aaron, a high school administrator in Chapel Hill, and their four children.
