Mark Bauerlein is Professor of English at Emory University, and he has recently served as Director of Research and Analysis at the National Endowment for the Arts. His books include Negrophobia: A Race Riot in Atlanta, 1906 (2001) and Literary Criticism: An Autopsy (1997), and his articles and reviews have appeared in Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Weekly Standard, Reason Magazine, Yale Review, Partisan Review, and Chronicle of Higher Education. He lives in Atlanta with his wife and son.
