Miguel Palacios is the author of “Investing in Human Capital” (Cambridge University Press) and several other papers outlining the benefits of HCCs for higher education financing. He is also a co-founder of Lumni, one of the companies mentioned in this article. Palacios developed his research on HCCs as a Batten Fellow at the Darden Business School, University of Virginia. He is a Ph.D. candidate in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of California, Berkeley, from where he holds an MA in Economics. He also holds an MBA from Darden and a BA in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad de los Andes (Colombia).
