In two hotly contested races, Republican challengers Rick Gunn and Rayne Brown defeat incumbent Democrats Tony Foriest and Hugh Holliman, respectively, both by wide margins.
By the way, this is shaping up as a historic election here in North Carolina.
Update: In what is definitely not the biggest surprise of the evening, Democrat Randy Wolfe gets the short end of the stick in the House District 90 race. Two DUIs the weekend before the election is never good.
